FRANK C. SIFTAR, 1941 - 2019
Frank C. Siftar, 78 of Perkasie, died on Friday, November 8, 2019. He was the husband of Elaine “Timmie” (Mullen) Siftar, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Siftar and her husband G.Walter, granddaughters Samantha Jean Siftar, Emma Lee Claire Morano and a Grandson, Andrew Joseph Morano.
Born January 23, 1941 in Allentown, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Vogrincsis) Siftar. He was a member of St. John’s Windish Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, Pa. He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School. He received a BS in Industrial Arts Education from The Pennsylvania State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha (Beta Alpha) fraternity. He was a life member of The Penn State Alumni Association of the College of Education. He received a Master’s Degree from Temple University and his Principal certificate from Lehigh University. Frank taught Industrial Arts Woodworking at Collingswood High School in Collingswood, New Jersey and North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Frank served two years active duty in the United States Navy and twenty-eight years in the Naval Reserve, retiring as Captain. He was a member of the following Naval Organizations: Association of the Navy, Navy League of the United States, US Naval Institute, US Navy Memorial, USO, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
Upon retiring from teaching, Frank was co-owner of Woodworkers Haven, Inc. in Southampton. Frank enjoyed woodworking, traveling to the British Isles, Ireland, Turkey and visiting his relatives in Slovenia. He especially enjoyed helping to restore a grist mill in Doylestown. He co-taught with his wife Pre-school Sunday School at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church for 25 years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 16, at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, 18911, where the family will receive friends from 10-11. Interment will be in adjoining church cemetery.
