ROBERT P. DEDES, 1953 - 2008
Robert “Bob” Paul Dedes Sr, 54, died Friday, November, 21, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 13, 1953 in Pittsburgh PA, he was the oldest and only son born to Alma Olischar Dedes and Paul Henry Dedes. Robert “Bob” leaves behind a grieving wife Bunny Loretta.Dedes, and four sons; Mark Clifton Dedes, Michael Clifton Dedes, Robert Paul.Dedes II and Thomas Emil. Dedes, his loving Mother, Alma Olischar Dedes, a sister and brother-in-law Carol and Paul Thompson of North Carolina. Robert “Bob”, had various accomplishments. In 1974 he earned a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Penn State After graduating he served 20 years for the United States Navy and retired in 1994 as a Commander and Supply Officer Bob continued his education and earned a second Masters Degree from the University of California in Public Administration. In 1994 Bob worked for the Town of Groton in Mystic Connecticut. He worked as the Assistant Director for the Public Works Department. In 2003 Bob moved his family to Jacksonville Florida, the birthplace of his wife and residence of her family. After moving to Jacksonville, Bob worked for Duval County Public school were he was a third grade teacher for Spring Park Elementary. Bob will be missed and never forgotten from all the lives he encountered. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice North East.

Dad, we've never been cold here in your shadow, cause we've had your sunlight on our faces... but you weren't content to shine, you wouldn't dare leave us behind. So we've had a part in all of your glories, now we share a part of your strengths. Your beautiful face for so long, the beautiful smile that hid your pain. It might of appeared have gone unnoticed.. but we've got it all here in our hearts. We want you to know, we might have been nothing with out you. Did you ever know that you were our HERO.
